Job Requirements

  • Partial high school education
  • food safety certification
  • alcohol service TIPS/MAST certification
  • ability to stand for entire workday
  • ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • ability to work in varying temperature extremes
  • strong verbal communication skills in English
  • physical presence at job site
  • ability to use POS systems

Job Qualifications

  • Partial high school education
  • high school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • strong sanitation habits and attention to detail
  • food safety certification required
  • alcohol service TIPS/MAST certification required
  • ability to learn and use food service POS system
  • mathematic skills
  • strong customer service abilities
  • ability to recognize and solve guest problems or communicate to management

Job Duties

  • Greet guests promptly and politely
  • answer questions about the menu
  • take food and beverage orders
  • explain how various items are prepared
  • describe ingredients and cooking methods
  • suggest menu items
  • check patron identification for alcohol service compliance
  • maintain pleasant dining experience by serving food and beverages in a friendly and efficient manner
  • check on guests regularly
  • communicate with the kitchen
  • attend to guest needs
  • carry plates, glassware, and trays to and from tables as prescribed
  • complete sales in POS accurately and efficiently
  • complete all side work including stocking service areas with coffee, food, tableware, and linens
  • perform setup and cleanup duties before and after meals including vacuuming, arranging furniture, and changing linens
  • report gratuities at the end of shifts as required
  • perform other related duties as directed
