Job Requirements

  • Partial high school education
  • strong sanitation habits and attention to detail
  • food safety certification
  • alcohol service TIPS/MAST certification
  • ability to learn and use POS system
  • mathematic skills
  • good communication skills
  • physical ability to stand for entire workday and lift up to 50 lbs
  • willingness to work flexible hours including breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Partial high school education
  • high school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • strong sanitation habits and attention to detail
  • food safety certification required
  • alcohol service TIPS/MAST certification required
  • national park food service experience preferred
  • ability to learn and use food service POS system including computerized cash register and credit card terminal
  • mathematic skills
  • strong customer service abilities
  • ability to recognize and solve guest problems or communicate to management when needed

Job Duties

  • Greet guests promptly and politely
  • answer questions about the menu
  • take food and beverage orders
  • explain how various items are prepared
  • describe ingredients and cooking methods
  • suggest menu items
  • check patron identification to ensure compliance with alcoholic beverage service requirements
  • maintain pleasant dining experience by serving food and beverages in a friendly and efficient manner
  • check on guests regularly
  • communicate with the kitchen
  • attend to guest needs
  • carry plates, glassware, and trays to and from tables in manner prescribed by management
  • complete sales in POS in an accurate, efficient, and friendly manner
  • complete all side-work including stocking service areas with coffee, food, tableware, and linens
  • perform setup and clean-up duties before and after each meal service including vacuuming, arranging furniture, and changing linens
  • report gratuities at the end of each shift as required by company policy and law
  • perform such other related duties as directed or required
