Job Requirements
- Evening and weekend availability required
- Must be able to lift 25-60 pounds and carry 25-50 pounds
- Must have visual near and distance acuity
- Must have verbal ability to communicate in person and over the phone or radio
- Must have functional range of motion and grip strength of 60-80 pounds
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and reach overhead
- Ability to work in noisy, busy, and odorous environments
- Must be self-directed and able to manage multiple tasks
- Must remain calm under stress and able to prioritize tasks
- Must pass cardiac recovery test if classified under POPE C
- Willingness to follow all federal, state and local food service and preparation guidelines.

- Ability to uphold food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and residents
- Ability to participate in banquet service and culinary event cooking as needed
- Ability to understand therapeutic diet requirements after training
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
- Ability to maintain accurate food temperature and HACCP records
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Duties
- Perform opening, side and closing work duties
- Accurately input customer orders in computer ensuring proper charges
- Serve tables as residents are seated
- Create a pleasant dining experience for residents. Uphold 5 star dining standards at all times
- Inform supervisor of customer problems immediately
- Inform supervisor of noticeable or perceived changes in the residents’ physical or mental health abilities
- Perform as banquet server participating in room decorating and setups
- May be required to perform as culinary event cook (omelet, carving and cooking stations)
- Pick up and deliver food ensuring proper temperatures are maintained
- Stock standard food items in kitchens
- Wash dishes following proper guidelines. Complete cleaning assignments to ensure sanitation guidelines are met
- Label, date and rotate food items and discard food items older than 48 hours
- Maintain proper food temperature records according to federal guidelines. Keep HACCP logs up to date
- Able to express understanding of therapeutic and mechanically altered diets after training
- Portion food and prepare plates and trays according to the resident’s therapeutic diet. Mechanically alter food according to therapeutic diet needs
- Must be able to appropriately alter consistencies of food using industrial food processor(s).
