Job Requirements

  • High school degree or GED preferred
  • recent experience in an upscale dining restaurant as a server or bartender with alcohol and wine service
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • no felony, theft or stealing convictions
  • able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
  • able to pass background investigation
  • must obtain and maintain a gaming license
  • knowledge of dining and food maintenance operations and guest service
  • knowledge of Title 4 Arizona liquor law regarding alcohol service and enforcement
  • knowledge of cash handling
  • knowledge of restaurant menu, bar items, liquors, and pricing
  • knowledge of upselling, check average, suggestive selling including wine and alcohol
  • ability to obtain a Food Handlers card
  • ability to obtain TIPS certification
  • ability to pass departmental testing
  • ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in basic English
  • ability to provide outstanding guest service
  • ability to present professional appearance and manner
  • ability to follow instructions
  • ability to work under pressure in busy environments
  • ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining excellent guest service
  • skill in customer service
  • skill in using computer equipment and POS systems

Job Duties

  • Presents menus, answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service to patrons
  • possesses a strong knowledge of food, spirits, wine, champagne and cocktails
  • provides a positive and efficient dining experience for guests
  • provides tray service
  • large and small trays
  • provides excellent guest service
  • relays orders to the cook and serves courses from the kitchen and service bar areas
  • tends to guests, responds to any additional requests, and is knowledgeable of the service sequence and coursing properly followed
  • performs food running for the venues and keeps floors and work area clean
  • takes orders and may prepare non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages for guests
  • serves alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages ensuring legal drinking age compliance and adherence to Title 4 Arizona liquor law and Desert Diamond Casino controls
  • computes bills and accepts payments with basic math skills
  • effectively operates and enters orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system with accuracy
  • maintains clean, organized, and sanitized work area following all health and food safety regulations
  • performs additional duties such as seating guests, bussing and setting tables
  • polishes silverware and glassware
  • completes side work assigned by Venue Manager
  • maintains good communication with team members and guests
  • assists in daily restaurant operation and training new team members
  • monitors guests for intoxication and follows proper procedures
  • works closely with other departments to ensure seamless service
  • displays and reinforces Desert Diamond Casino's spirit of service standards
  • demonstrates courteous, respectful, and sensitive behavior towards guests and team members
  • adheres to all Title 4 liquor laws and internal controls
  • operates POS cash register
  • travels between casino properties as needed
  • flexible in assuming other responsibilities assigned by management.
