Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED or work equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in food service preferred
  • Previous training in liquor, wine, and food service preferred
  • Certification in alcohol awareness program preferred
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • Good understanding of English
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to carry a large oval tray with 6 covered dinners
  • Ability to lift and transport at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to push/pull carts and equipment up to 150 pounds
  • Ability to stand and work for up to 8 hours
  • Availability to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED or work equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in food service preferred
  • Previous training in liquor, wine, and food service preferred
  • Certification in alcohol awareness program preferred
  • Previous guest/customer relations training
  • Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Good understanding of English language
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to carry a large oval tray with 6 covered dinners
  • Ability to exert physical effort lifting and transporting at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to push/pull carts and equipment up to 150 pounds
  • Ability to endure various physical movements throughout the work area
  • Ability to stand and maintain mobility for up to 8 hours
  • Willingness to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Be in proper uniform, with nametag
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times
  • Work to resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
  • Communicate effectively with guests as well as team members
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel features, services, hours of operation, room rates, promotions, daily house count, and group activities
  • Greet and escort customers to their tables
  • Present menu and provide detailed information, including portions, ingredients, and potential allergies
  • Prepare tables with linens, silverware, and glasses
  • Inform customers about daily specials
  • Offer menu recommendations and upsell additional products when appropriate
  • Take accurate food and drink orders using POS or memorization
  • Check customers' IDs to ensure legal age for alcohol consumption
  • Communicate order details to kitchen staff
  • Serve food and drink orders promptly
  • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation
  • Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
  • Deliver checks and collect bill payments
  • Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to kitchen
  • Follow health department regulations
  • Maintain guest confidentiality
  • Assist in handling emergencies to protect guests and property
  • Abide by company and brand policies and procedures
