Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living
  • Must obtain Food Safety Certification within 90 days of position
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Maintain ServeSafe certification
  • Comply with drug testing and background checks
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment
  • Pass physical and tuberculosis testing as required
  • Willingness to participate in required training and continuing education

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe physical and social environment for residents and fellow team members
  • Provide dining service training to new care managers
  • Maintain knowledge of Daily and Always Available Menu items and provide general descriptions to residents
  • Assist residents with menu selections and respond to questions about menu items
  • Take meal and beverage orders and serve requested items according to established guidelines
  • Respond to the dining needs of residents while maintaining Sunrise hospitality and service standards
  • Attend pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities
  • Follow all local, state/provincial, and federal policies regarding food handling
  • Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health standards
  • Perform dining room checklist inspections for cleanliness and readiness and make necessary adjustments
  • Maintain side work duties as assigned
  • Maintain assigned tables and surrounding area in complete cleanliness, appearance, and readiness
  • Perform and ensure dining room set-up and re-set of tables in accordance with procedures
  • Support dining room decorum and etiquette standards
  • Perform and complete opening and closing checklist criteria
  • Assist in tabletop inventories maintenance
  • Review, notate, and initial Daily Log to document pertinent information
  • Review Resident Diet Book or confidential chart
  • Maintain and protect confidentiality of resident information
  • Practice safe food handling to prevent food borne illness
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments
  • Maintain all work areas in a healthy and safe condition
  • Assist in dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization, and supplies placement
  • Partner with community team to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
  • Practice safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout procedures
  • Participate actively as a team member and commit to team goals
  • Demonstrate Team Member Credo in daily interactions
  • Commit to serving residents through Principles of Service
  • Contribute to engagement programs and processes
  • Attend regular meetings as directed by supervisors
  • Maintain compliance in required training and certifications
  • Perform other duties as assigned
