Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality or full-service senior living
  • Must be Food Safety Certified within 90 days of taking the position
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Maintain ServeSafe certification
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills
  • Good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Compliance with safety and health regulations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe environment for residents and team members
  • Provide dining service training to new care managers
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items and provide general descriptions to residents
  • Assist residents with menu selections and respond to questions
  • Take meal and beverage orders and serve items according to guidelines
  • Respond to the dining needs of residents while maintaining hospitality and service standards
  • Attend pre-meal briefings to gain knowledge of the meal and support activities
  • Follow all local, state, and federal food handling policies
  • Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health
  • Perform dining room checklist inspections for cleanliness and readiness
  • Maintain side work duties as assigned
  • Maintain assigned tables and surrounding areas clean and ready
  • Perform dining room set-up and reset according to procedures
  • Support dining room decorum and etiquette standards
  • Complete opening and closing checklist criteria
  • Assist in tabletop inventories maintenance
  • Review and document information in the Daily Log
  • Review Resident Diet Book or confidential chart
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information
  • Practice safe food handling to prevent foodborne illness
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments
  • Maintain work areas in a healthy and safe condition
  • Assist dining room organization and supplies placement
  • Partner with the community team to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
  • Practice safety procedures including PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout procedures
  • Participate actively as a team member working toward team goals
  • Demonstrate Team Member Credo in daily interactions
  • Commit to serving residents through Principles of Service
  • Contribute to engagement programs and processes
  • Attend meetings as directed
  • Maintain compliance with required training and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
