Job Duties

  • maintains a guest first focus while performing all duties
  • inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • make specific beverage, appetizer, entrée and dessert recommendations you genuinely feel guests will enjoy
  • answer questions about food, beverages and restaurant services
  • take food and beverage orders from guests and enter orders in POS system
  • abide by all state, federal regulations and restaurant liquor policies pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
  • possess positive attitude and work well with other team members
  • work in a fast paced restaurant environment
  • have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
  • possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate POS system
  • deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner
  • provide proactive beverage refills
  • pre-bus tables between each course
  • maintain clean and stocked service and dining areas
  • prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change
  • bus section's tables immediately upon guest departure
  • assist fellow team members as needed
  • perform side work at start and end of each shift
  • work in standing position for long periods
  • safely lift and maneuver trays of food weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds
  • welcome and greet guests warmly and make them feel comfortable
  • monitor and observe guests dining experience and ensure satisfaction
  • respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
  • notify manager-on-duty if guest is not 100% satisfied
  • thank guests and invite them to return
  • communicate and understand predominant language(s) of guests
  • actively listen and convey information effectively
