Job Duties
- maintains a guest first focus while performing all duties
- inform guests of specials and menu changes
- make specific beverage, appetizer, entrée and dessert recommendations you genuinely feel guests will enjoy
- answer questions about food, beverages and restaurant services
- take food and beverage orders from guests and enter orders in POS system
- abide by all state, federal regulations and restaurant liquor policies pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
- possess positive attitude and work well with other team members
- work in a fast paced restaurant environment
- have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
- possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate POS system
- deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner
- provide proactive beverage refills
- pre-bus tables between each course
- maintain clean and stocked service and dining areas
- prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change
- bus section's tables immediately upon guest departure
- assist fellow team members as needed
- perform side work at start and end of each shift
- work in standing position for long periods
- safely lift and maneuver trays of food weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds
- welcome and greet guests warmly and make them feel comfortable
- monitor and observe guests dining experience and ensure satisfaction
- respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
- notify manager-on-duty if guest is not 100% satisfied
- thank guests and invite them to return
- communicate and understand predominant language(s) of guests
- actively listen and convey information effectively
- be socially perceptive and exhibit hospitality orientation
- comprehend written work documents
- coordinate actions in relation to others' actions
