Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two years of restaurant experience in fine dining or luxury service environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Ability to maintain grooming and appearance standards
- Ability to handle money according to company policies
Job Qualifications
- A minimum of two years of restaurant experience in fine dining is preferred
- Must be detail oriented, accurate, possess good organizational abilities and be capable of multi-tasking
- Country club experience preferred
- Schedule flexibility that includes working evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must possess customer service skills and strong oral communication skills
- Competency in dealing with members and fellow employees under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy
- Must possess the ability to work effectively under deadlines
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation
Job Duties
- Prepare room for dining by setting tables with cloth, decorations, candles, napkins, service plates and utensils
- Assist guests in selecting food and beverages by offering cocktails, suggesting courses, explaining the menu and chef's specialties, identifying appropriate wines and answering food and drink preparation questions
- Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, menu deviations and knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items
- Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices
- identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests
- Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
- Serve orders and anticipate additional patron needs
- Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling beverages
- Properly describe, open and pour wine tableside
- Perform basic side-work as needed or directed by management
- Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Flying Horse standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the volume
- Fill in for absent staff as needed and/or assist with special events as needed
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
- Follow all money handling procedures when serving the guest
- Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary
