Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of fine dining restaurant experience
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of restaurant experience in fine dining is preferred
  • Must be detail oriented, accurate, possess good organizational abilities and be capable of multi-tasking
  • Country club experience preferred
  • Schedule flexibility that includes working evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must possess customer service skills and strong oral communication skills
  • Competency in dealing with members and fellow employees under circumstances requiring tact and diplomacy
  • Must possess the ability to work effectively under deadlines

Job Duties

  • Prepare room for dining by setting tables with cloth, decorations, candles, napkins, service plates and utensils
  • Assist guests in selecting food and beverages by offering cocktails, suggesting courses, explaining the menu and chef's specialties, identifying appropriate wines and answering food and drink preparation questions
  • Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, menu deviations and knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items
  • Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices, identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests
  • Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
  • Serve orders and anticipate additional patron needs
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling beverages
  • Properly describe, open and pour wine tableside
  • Perform basic side-work as needed or directed by management
  • Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Flying Horse Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the volume
  • Fill in for absent staff as needed and/or assist with special events as needed
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • Follow all money handling procedures when serving the guest
  • Promptly address customer service issues and refer customers to management when necessary
