Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to read and write in English
  • University of Missouri Food Handler's certificate within one month of employment
  • willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
  • physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods
  • adherence to infection control and safety protocols
  • professionalism in customer service and communication

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent

  • University of Missouri Food Handler's certificate within one month of employment
  • additional license or certification as required by the hiring department

Job Duties

  • work with medical staff, ancillary professional staff, departmental service staff, patients, visitors, and the general public with professionalism focused on customer satisfaction
  • use proper scripting and maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information according to HIPAA and PCI guidelines
  • greet people positively and refrain from negative talk or public venting
  • follow directives from Dining and Nutrition Services management related to work assignments and areas for improvement
  • perform cleaning and sanitation routines in food service areas to ensure compliance with food safety and infection control guidelines
  • carry out food service related activities including patient tray transport, delivery, cashier duties, catering, food preparation, barista tasks, line serving, and patient tray assembly with attention to food safety
  • maintain and operate equipment safely and report any safety, food safety, environmental safety, or security issues promptly
  • recognize patient nutrition requirements and report variances
  • assist nutrition associates or culinary associates as needed and support staff development
  • maintain safe and clean work areas ready for inspection by regulatory agencies
  • complete unit and department specific duties as assigned
