Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Have reliable means of transportation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in food service or hospitality is an asset
  • Ability to provide service in an accurate and timely manner
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficiently to perform job duties and interact with residents, families and employees

Job Duties

  • Efficiently serve food and beverages to tables for restaurant style service
  • Handles all service ware correctly
  • Accurately provide information about the meal presented including offering suggestions and answering questions
  • Observe diners to fulfill additional requests and monitor meal completion by circulating throughout the dining room
  • Remove dishes during and after the meal efficiently to maintain sanitation standards
  • Wash and set up tables according to rules of etiquette including clean linen, silverware and glassware
  • Check cleanliness of chairs and condiments
  • Restock supplies as needed prior to meal service
  • Initiate cross training in hosting and serving to aid personal growth
  • Complete all side work before, during and after meal service efficiently
  • Clean and sanitize department storage, refrigeration/freezer, equipment, utensils, waste containers as assigned
  • Participate in daily catering set-up, execution and clean-up
