Job Requirements

  • One year experience as a waiter or waitress in a restaurant or food service establishment
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent preferred
  • Must successfully complete the New Mexico Food Handlers course upon hire
  • Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server's License upon hire
  • Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation
  • Will require pre-employment and random drug screening
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds
  • Flexible to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Must have punctual and regular attendance
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various temperatures and weather conditions
  • Must be able to perform physical requirements including balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, finger dexterity, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, seeing, walking, sitting, standing, stooping, and talking
  • Must be able to work on uneven surfaces and adhere to safety guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • One year experience as a waiter or waitress in a restaurant or food service establishment

  • Knowledge of menu offerings including ingredients, cooking methods, and presentation
  • Knowledge of beverage selections such as wines, cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic options
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Strong commitment to the organization
  • Ability to deal professionally with the general public and attend to customer needs
  • Adaptability to fast-paced environments
  • Maintain highest personal hygiene standards
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Knowledge of minimum temperature requirements for food and drink preservation
  • Knowledge of tribal, federal, state, and local sanitary regulations
  • Ability to work harmoniously with coworkers and supervisors

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service and establish guest perception of exceptional hospitality and friendliness
  • Manage orders from guests ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to special requests while coordinating with kitchen and bar staff
  • Promote menu items, specials, and promotions to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue
  • Adhere to all laws and regulations governing alcohol service including age verification and responsible beverage practices
  • Monitor and intervene service to guests who appear intoxicated and handle situations with tact, notifying supervisors as necessary
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of property information regarding restaurants, entertainment, lounges, marketing promotions, upcoming events, and local points of interest
  • Process payments accurately handling cash, credit, and other forms of payment
  • Perform opening and closing side work duties as assigned
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings
  • Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and alcohol service regulations
  • Work as part of a cohesive team assisting fellow members
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas
  • Communicate with supervisors or managers regarding guest issues
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance as per assigned schedule
