Job Requirements

  • Must have minimum 1-2 years serving experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant or equivalent education and experience
  • Must provide San Diego County Food Handlers Card within 30 days of employment
  • Must complete anti-harassment and nondiscrimination 1-hour training
  • Must complete RBS Responsible Alcohol Service training upon conclusion of training
  • Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for up to 8 hours
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds safely and properly
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, push, and pull
  • Must be able to work holidays, nights, weekends
  • Must be motivated, hard-working, passionate, able to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle guest complaints appropriately
  • Must exhibit professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual behavior
  • Must have highest work ethics, personal morals, and honesty beyond reproach

Job Duties

  • Work with the team to create great energy and atmosphere
  • Greet each guest with a cheerful or positive attitude and a smile
  • Take out trash and keep restaurant clean and organized, free of dirty plates and glassware
  • Run food to tables and ensure guests are receiving their correct order
  • Handle food in a timely manner to ensure optimal food temperature
  • Have a great understanding of the menu and what is in each dish
  • Fill water glasses when necessary
  • Clear empty food plates when guests are finished
  • Wipe down and sanitize tables when guests are done eating
  • Keep the restaurant stocked with adequate supplies such as plates, napkins, silverware, and glasses
  • Greet and escort customers to their tables
  • Present menu and provide detailed information when asked such as about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies
  • Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
  • Inform customers about the day’s specials
  • Offer menu recommendations upon request
  • Up-sell additional products when appropriate
  • Take accurate food and drinks orders using POS ordering software and order slips
  • Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for alcoholic beverages
  • Communicate order details to the kitchen staff
  • Serve food and drink orders
  • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
