Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • must be 21 years of age
  • obtain a Food Handlers certificate from County Health Department
  • 1 - 2 years prior bussing or food runner experience preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly
  • ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • pass background check
  • present a neat and professional appearance
  • ability to handle intoxicated guests professionally
  • knowledge of upscale food and beverage service standards
  • ability to follow safety and standard operating procedures

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate pride and knowledge in all aspects of restaurant operations
  • supply dining room and tables with clean china, silver, glassware, utensils, condiments, and paper supplies
  • set tables completely before and after shifts
  • remove dirty dishes, soiled linen, glassware, and silver from tables
  • maintain tables throughout service by clearing dishes and empty glassware
  • reset tables and perform related duties requested by management or servers
  • keep all areas clean and free of debris
  • polish glassware and service items as necessary
  • assist servers with complimentary bottled water and bread service
  • monitor tables closely to attend to guests' needs
  • clear and scrape dishes in side stations after clearing tables
  • serve non-alcoholic beverages including coffee and hot tea
  • refresh flatware between courses or upon request
  • move tables to accommodate reservation needs
  • assist in timely food service ensuring accuracy
  • carry plates without tray service
  • complete station side work and stock service stations
  • maintain professional demeanor while assisting servers and captains
  • provide prompt, courteous food and beverage service
  • discreetly adjust service speed to guest needs
  • acknowledge customers with a smile and periodically return for additional service
  • prepare silverware quickly and neatly
  • run food on rotation as needed
  • maintain appropriate grooming and uniform standards
  • ensure workstations comply with health and departmental standards
  • prepare side-work and supplies for shifts
  • follow safety and standard operating procedures
  • perform other assigned duties
