Job Requirements

  • punctuality and reliable attendance are required
  • ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • ability to lift, move or carry objects over 30 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • motor coordination and finger dexterity to perform tasks
  • capability to bend, stoop frequently
  • ability to work in hot and cold temperature extremes
  • ability to work on unlevel, slippery or unstable surfaces
  • ability to maintain a professional and ethical manner
  • consistent attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation

  • ability to read, write, speak and understand English to communicate with guests and team members
  • ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers
  • ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations with limited standardization
  • ability to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy and cooperativeness
  • ability to work with minimum supervision
  • ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written or oral form

Job Duties

  • Perform outlet opening duties such as setting tables and chairs
  • assist restaurant servers to serve guests
  • prepare all beverages required for service including coffee, iced tea and hot water
  • utilize essential hospitality standards such as greeting guests with a smile, making eye contact, and engaging in polite conversation
  • greet guests after they are seated
  • pour water and refill water, coffee and tea cups
  • pick up food from kitchen and bring to side stations
  • assist servers by serving food and beverages to guests during busy periods
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the dining area including all tables and chairs
  • reset tables with fresh linens and set according to the meal period
  • restock the dining room and side stations with tableware, flatware, utensils, condiments and linen
  • maintain adequate supplies in side stations when the restaurant is open
  • clean side stations and replenish supplies
  • empty and clean food preparation carts
  • clean coffee urn and bread warmer
  • collect fresh linens and deliver them to the restaurant, room service or banquet room
  • return soiled linens to laundry
  • demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to a changing clientele and environment
  • conduct all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner
  • maintain consistent, regular attendance record
  • perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, manager or department director
