Job Requirements
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Meets Denny’s uniform and grooming standards and maintains them throughout the shift
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays, nights, and weekends
- Possesses excellent guest service skills
- Possesses basic math skills
- Must be dependable and able to learn basic tasks and follow instructions
- Places a value on diversity and shows respect for others
- Must be physically capable of lifting up to 30 lbs and raising a tray up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to stand and walk throughout a 4 to 8-hour shift
- Must be able to hear well in a loud environment
- Must meet state, county, or municipal health regulations regarding food handling
- Must be able to observe and differentiate monetary denominations
- Must be able to operate point of sale systems
- Must be able to handle potentially hazardous chemicals safely
Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- Possesses excellent guest service skills
- Demonstrates basic math skills including add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Knowledge of safety and hygiene standards in a restaurant environment
- Familiarity with point of sale systems is an advantage
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks
- Prior experience in food service or customer service roles is preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Greet guests immediately upon arrival and acknowledge them at departure
- Assist with guest seating following proper rotation and arrival order
- Take and deliver food and beverage orders accurately using point of sale system
- Suggestively sell menu items to achieve guest check average targets
- Prepare beverage orders and some appetizers, salads, and desserts
- Check order completeness and presentation before delivery
- Attend to guest needs promptly and courteously during the entire dining experience
- Pre-bus tables and clear, clean, and reset tables promptly
- Address guest complaints and requests courteously and escalate to supervisor when needed
- Handle cash, credit card, and discount transactions accurately following safe cash handling procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining room and service areas
- Assist fellow team members as needed
- Complete assigned side work and deep cleaning duties
- Adhere to Denny’s Brand Standards and internal policies
