Job Requirements

  • Restaurant experience preferred, not required
  • Must be upbeat, outgoing and positive
  • Ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Ability to be on your feet and alert for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs as needed
  • Continuous use of hands and arms, bending, reaching and twisting

Job Duties

  • Prepare room for dining by setting decorations, condiments, candles, napkins, service plates, and utensils
  • Protect establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Greet and welcome guests, inviting them back as they leave
  • Help guests select food and beverages by presenting menu, offering cocktails/beverages, suggesting courses, explaining the chef's specials, identifying appropriate wines, and answering food preparation questions
  • Identify patrons' special dietary needs and special requests
  • Keep kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
  • Respond to additional guest requirements by inquiring of needs and observing dining process
  • Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and being alert to patron spills or special needs
