Job Requirements
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- reliable transportation required
- ability to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods of up to four hours
- ability to wipe down tabletops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor, and wipe down booth seats
- ability to transport plates, glasses, and baskets frequently
- good sense of balance and physical ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and frequently lift and bus pans and trays often weighing 25 pounds
- ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and team members
- ability to carry objects such as high chairs up to 15 pounds
- willingness to work in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment subject to wet floors
- reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities
Job Qualifications
- High school degree or GED preferred
- prior server experience preferred
- ServeSafe Food Certification a plus
- reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required
- friendly and engaging demeanor
- ability to build relationships
- ability to be a team player
- ability to follow manager instructions and guidance
- ability to communicate and behave professionally at all times
- bi-lingual experience a plus
Job Duties
- Deliver food and drinks to guests using Applebee's team delivery
- interact verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat environment
- greet guests, answer questions, make suggestions regarding food, drinks, and menu items
- complete assigned opening and closing side work
- present guest checks to dining room patrons, make correct change and/or complete credit transactions
- relay food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system in a timely and accurate manner
- serve alcohol according to all state and federal laws and regulations, as well as company and brand policies
- participate in the clearing and resetting of dining room tables using Applebee's team delivery
- observe guests, respond to requests, and anticipate guests' needs
- maintain a clean and organized work area
- explain and demonstrate usage of Tabletop Electronic Devices to guests
- drive sales with suggestive selling
- write and repeat guests' orders to ensure understanding and accuracy
- accommodate any special needs of guests such as booster chairs and high chairs
- occasionally serve guests in a Host/Hostess or Carside To-Go Server capacity
- perform general utility functions as requested by management
