Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work as part of a team and independently
- availability to commit to a temporary 28-week work schedule aboard ship
- physical fitness to meet job demands
- willingness to adhere to company values of optimism, commitment, patriotism, and merit
- ability to maintain professional grooming standards
- pass all required safety, security, and drug screenings
Job Qualifications
- At least eighteen years of age
- American citizen or Green Card holder
- able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day, 7 days a week, for up to 28 weeks
- ability to meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, and extended standing or walking
- able to pass pre-employment drug test including testing for marijuana and other controlled substances
- compliance with grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
- commitment to abstain from alcohol consumption during work
- ability to perform emergency and safety functions after training
- positive attitude and composure under pressure
Job Duties
- Provide guests with an elegant and memorable dining experience
- set up and break down breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hour including arranging tables, linen, silverware, china, and glassware
- cater to all culinary requests efficiently
- acknowledge guests by name, escort to tables, present menus, suggest courses and wines, answer menu questions
- relay orders to the galley and serve courses and beverages carefully ensuring presentation and garnishment
- perform additional duties such as greeting guests upon embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and catering evening entertainment
