Job Duties

- Promotes and supports a resident centered care environment that ensures the treatment of all residents, family members, visitors, fellow employees and customers with kindness, respect, and dignity
- Adheres to all facility and department work rules, policies and procedures
- Provide excellent resident and guest engagement by helping to create a fun and caring environment for residents and their guest
- Take resident and guest orders in an accurate, professional, courteous, and efficient manner
- Greet and assist residents and guests in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner
- Clean and set tables for each meal and arrange silverware, plates and cups and/or glasses
- Maintain clean environment in the dining room, including sweeping and mopping floors between meal service times
- Serve food according to established menu, ensuring proper plating and presentation
- Provide beverage service such as water, iced tea, juices, milk and coffee/tea
- Refill salt, pepper, and sugar bowls prior to each meal, sanitizing the shakers and sugar bowls between meal service
- Remove dirty dishes and conduct bussing duties in the service area and return to the kitchen for dishwashing
- Restock the dining room with utensils, napkins, glasses, cups, tablecloths, table decorations and food such as butter, crackers, bread and all condiments
- Report any broken equipment or tableware to supervisor
- Understand sit-down service and proper serving techniques
- Assist in the cleanup of spills
- Effectively resolve any customer issues and report resolution
- Act in compliance with federal and state sanitary regulations as well as facility infection control guidelines and dietary policies and procedures
- Assist with storage and inventory of food supply and cleanliness of storage areas
- Provide the front of the house coordinator with a list of pantry and other items to be ordered
- Attend in-service training sessions as assigned
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area
- Participate in department/facility meetings, as required
- Perform dishwashing/cleaning procedures in accordance with department of health and facility standards
- Complete kitchen and dining room cleaning assignments
- Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies
- Follow established Infection Control Precautions
- Perform all other duties assigned
