Job Requirements
- 18 plus years old
- Reliable transportation required
- Ability to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods up to four hours
- Must have good sense of balance and ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel and lift trays and pans frequently weighing 25 pounds
- Ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and coworkers
- Ability to wipe down tables and seats and pick up debris
- Ability to transport plates, glasses, and baskets frequently
- Ability to work in fast-paced, loud environment
- Willingness to accommodate guests’ special needs
- Completion of assigned opening and closing side work
- Ability to operate point-of-sale computerized systems and tabletop electronic devices
Job Qualifications
- Friendly and engaging demeanor
- Prior server experience preferred
- ServeSafe Food Certification a plus
- Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required
- Bi-lingual experience a plus
- High school degree or GED preferred
- Ability to build relationships
- Ability to be a team player
- Ability to follow manager instructions and guidance
- Ability to communicate and behave professionally at all times
Job Duties
- Delivers food and drinks to guests using Applebee’s team delivery
- Interacts verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere
- Greets guests, answers questions, makes suggestions regarding food and drinks
- Completes assigned opening and closing side work
- Presents guest checks to dining room patrons and handles payments
- Relays food orders to kitchen via point-of-sale system accurately and timely
- Serves alcohol according to state and federal laws and company policies
- Participates in clearing and resetting dining room tables
- Observes guests and anticipates their needs
- Maintains a clean and organized work area
- Explains and demonstrates usage of tabletop electronic devices
- Drives sales with suggestive selling
- Writes and repeats guest orders to ensure accuracy
- Accommodates special needs such as booster chairs and high chairs
- May serve as host/hostess or carside to-go server occasionally
- Performs general utility functions as requested by management
