Job Requirements
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to move throughout the business standing, walking, kneeling, bending for extended periods
- ability to perform repeating arm, hand, and wrist movements
- manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- ability to lift, push, pull, balance, and carry up to 50 pounds
- ability to turn or twist body parts in circular motion
- tolerance for heat, cold, chemicals, and loud/noisy environment
Job Qualifications
- Previous work experience of at least 2 years in a hotel managed restaurant or 4 years in a fine dining restaurant
- current Massachusetts Food Handler Card
- current Massachusetts Alcohol Server Training Certificate
- ability to perform numerical operations
- effective communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to deal with customers and staff with patience, tact, and diplomacy
Job Duties
- Reconcile transactions at the end of each shift
- be thoroughly familiar with all menu items including ingredients and food allergens
- ensure the restaurant is always clean and in order
- ensure sequence of service is followed
- greet guests and take food and beverage orders
- serve food and beverages ensuring timeliness and accuracy
- accommodate guests’ special requests
- maintain tables by clearing finished items
- polish and set up china, glassware, silverware, and service items
- stock clean linen and discard used linen
- set up and empty trash and recycling
- set up and stock condiments and side stations
- set up, maintain, and break down beverage stations
- follow all food safety, sanitation, and alcohol service laws
- participate in meetings for training and updates
- ensure a healthy and safe work environment
- be knowledgeable of property facilities and services
- resolve guest complaints
- work as a team
- participate in pre-shift meetings
- present a professional image
- communicate with supervisors and managers
- maintain confidentiality of guest and company information
