Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality and/or full-service senior living
  • Must be Food Safety Certified within 90 days of taking the position
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
  • Maintain ServeSafe certification
  • Complete ongoing training as required by Sunrise and state/provincial regulations
  • Ability to work Thursday through Sunday from 3 AM to 7 PM
  • Ability to follow all food handling and safety regulations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Drug test clearance
  • Compliance with health testing and vaccination requirements as applicable

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year experience in fine dining hospitality or full-service senior living preferred
  • Food Safety Certification within 90 days of hire
  • CPR certification
  • First Aid certification
  • ServeSafe certification
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Good judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Provide support in the day-to-day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive, and safe physical and social environment for residents and fellow team members
  • Provide dining service training to new care managers
  • Maintain knowledge of Daily and Always Available Menu items and provide general descriptions to residents
  • Assist residents with menu selections and respond to relevant questions
  • Take meal and beverage orders and serve items according to guidelines
  • Respond to dining needs while maintaining Sunrise hospitality and service standards
  • Attend pre-meal briefings to prepare for meal service
  • Follow all policies regarding food handling
  • Maintain standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and health
  • Perform dining room checklist inspections and make necessary adjustments
  • Maintain assigned tables and surrounding areas in cleanliness and readiness
  • Perform dining room set-up and re-set of tables according to procedures
  • Support dining room decorum and etiquette
  • Complete opening and closing checklist criteria
  • Assist in tabletop inventories maintenance
  • Review and notate the Daily Log to learn pertinent information
  • Review Resident Diet Book and maintain confidentiality of resident information
  • Practice safe food handling to prevent foodborne illness
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning assignments
  • Maintain healthy and safe work areas
  • Assist in maintaining proper directional flow and organization in dining areas
  • Partner with community team to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
  • Practice safety procedures including use of PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and lockout tagout procedures
  • Participate actively as a team member and commit to team goals
  • Demonstrate Team Member Credo in daily interactions
  • Commit to serving residents through Principles of Service
  • Contribute to engagement programs
  • Attend regular meetings as directed
  • Maintain compliance with required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
