Job Requirements

  • At least eighteen years of age
  • American citizen or Green Card holder
  • willingness and ability to work a minimum of 12 hours per day for 7 days a week up to 28 weeks
  • ability to meet moderate physical demands such as lifting, bending, climbing, and standing or walking for extended periods
  • successful completion of federal pre-employment drug test including marijuana and other controlled substances
  • adherence to ship grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
  • compliance with shipboard alcohol consumption prohibition
  • ability to undertake emergency and safety training necessary for shipboard safety
  • commitment to temporary employment for the duration of the 28-week cruising season
  • capability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Provide guests with an elegant and memorable dining experience
  • set up and break down breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hour including arranging linen, silverware, china, and glassware
  • cater to all culinary requests efficiently
  • acknowledge guests by name, escort them to their tables, present food and beverage menus, suggest courses and wines, and answer menu questions kindly
  • relay orders to the galley and serve courses and beverages ensuring presentability and proper garnishing
  • perform additional functions such as greeting guests upon embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and catering evening entertainment
  • maintain high standards of hygiene and professionalism in the dining area
