Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- prior hospitality or customer service experience beneficial but not mandatory
- ability to work long shifts in a physically demanding environment
- willingness to live and work on a cruise ship for the duration of the contract
- excellent guest service skills
- ability to follow safety training and protocols
- no consumption of alcohol during employment
- legal authorization to work in the United States
- willingness to wear provided uniform and maintain appearance standards
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- American citizen or Green Card holder
- ability to work minimum 12 hours per day, 7 days a week for up to 28 weeks
- ability to meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, extended standing or walking
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
- ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure
- positive attitude consistent with company values
- willingness to follow grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
- pass pre-employment drug test as required by federal law
Job Duties
- Provide guests with an elegant and memorable dining experience
- efficiently set-up and break-down breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hour including setting tables, arranging linen, silverware, china and glassware
- cater to all culinary requests in an efficient manner
- acknowledge guests by name, escort them to their tables, present food and beverage menus, suggest particular courses and wines and kindly answer any questions
- efficiently relay orders to the galley and serve various courses and beverages with care ensuring presentation and garnishing
- perform additional functions such as greeting guests upon embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and catering evening entertainment
- maintain high levels of professionalism and uphold company values throughout service
