Job Requirements

  • Meet all applicable state and federal requirements for this position
  • Ability to make independent decisions and follow instructions
  • Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public
  • Capable of working with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people within the facility
  • Communicate in a manner sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, team members, residents, and families
  • Frequently lift/carry 30 lbs and occasionally lift/carry 50 lbs
  • Frequently push/pull up to 30 lbs and occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs
  • Frequently stand or walk
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop and reach at or below the shoulder
  • Exposure to kitchen heat and cold from the freezer

  • Food service and/or hospitality experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people
  • Capable of clear and effective communication with supervisors, team members, residents, and families

Job Duties

  • Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
  • Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures
  • Distribute and collect menus as necessary
  • Take meal orders, serve food and beverages, and answer questions regarding the menu
  • Follow sanitary regulations at all times
  • Provide Platinum Service with each dining experience
  • Set up meal trays, food carts and set up the dining room with utensils, salt and pepper, napkins, and clean common areas prior and after meals are served
