Job Duties
- assist in preparing the restaurant for dining service by setting up section including preparing items such as linens silverware and glassware
- greet all guests in a warm personal friendly manner
- review menus with guests and answer any questions about menu items offering descriptions and making recommendations
- inform guests of any daily specials including pricing if not listed on the menu
- explain how various menu items are prepared describing ingredients and cooking methods
- take guests' food and beverage orders and enter orders into computer for transmittal to kitchen staff
- check guests' identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcohol
- serve food and beverages to guests taking extra care to perform any additional table-side preparation or service as required for items served
- describe and recommend wines to guests bring selection to the table with appropriate glasses and pour the wine for the guests
- check with the guests to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
- remove dishes and glasses from tables and take them to the kitchen for cleaning
- prepare the table for the next guest
- prepare certain hot and cold non-alcoholic beverages for guests
- prepare and present guests' checks ensuring any special requests are followed such as split checks and collect corresponding payments
- assist the entire service team throughout the meal period to ensure all guest's expectations are exceeded
- stock service areas with supplies such as coffee iced tea tableware share plates silverware and linens
- fill salt pepper sugar cream condiment napkins and drink garnishes
- must be dependable report to work as scheduled and on time and follow all policies regarding scheduling and attendance
