Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Obtain Food Handlers Card as required
- Preferably have wait staff experience
- Ability to count
- Knowledge of facility fire plan, disaster plan and safety procedures
- Ability to follow written and oral directions
- Ability to interact tactfully with residents, family members, staff and public
- Be mobile and capable of physical aspects of the job
- Good physical health confirmed by screening including chest x-ray or intradermal test
- Demonstrated concern for older adults’ needs
- Maintain positive attitude and safety awareness
Job Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Previous wait staff experience preferred
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of facility fire plan, disaster plan and safety procedures
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Effective communication skills with residents, families and staff
- Ability to use basic office equipment including computer
- Good physical health confirmed by health screening
- Genuine concern for older adults’ physical and emotional needs
- Positive attitude and resident safety awareness
Job Duties
- Make resident satisfaction the number one priority
- Serve meals to residents, family members and visitors in a professional, dignified, efficient and courteous manner
- Assure compliance with all proper serving techniques/etiquette
- Assist residents with menu selections as needed
- Accurately and professionally take residents and guests’ food and beverage orders
- Verify food prepared matches items ordered on POS and ensure special requests are accommodated
- Identify ingredients and preparation methods of menu items
- Ensure plates are presentable before serving
- Serve food using appropriate trays and delivery methods
- Act as liaison between kitchen and dining staff to correct orders
- Track resident meal attendance
- Deliver meals to resident rooms when required
- Prepare dining rooms before meals by cleaning and stocking supplies
- Check and restock dining room stock and nourishments
- Clean tables, chairs and floors after meals
- Bus tables and return dishes to kitchen
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment
- Report equipment safety issues
- Be flexible and assist with food inventory, dishwashing and stocking as needed
- Follow standards for time and attendance
- Display tact and friendliness in interactions
- Support community marketing efforts through positive interaction
- Communicate resident condition changes to supervisors immediately
- Maintain a safe and secure environment following safety standards
- Encourage teamwork with coworkers and other departments
- Support a positive and professional image through actions and dress
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff
