Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant service experience
  • ability to communicate effectively in predominant guest languages
  • must have familiarity with standard dining room procedures
  • basic math proficiency
  • able to stand for extended periods
  • physical capability to lift and carry food trays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of service experience
  • ability to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests
  • basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
  • possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a MICROS system
  • ability to work in a standing position up to 5 hours
  • ability to safely lift and easily maneuver trays weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Welcome and greet guests within 30 seconds
  • introduce yourself
  • inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • make recommendations you genuinely feel your guest will enjoy
  • answer questions about food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services
  • take food and beverage orders and enter orders into the MICROS system
  • deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner
  • perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required
  • anticipate guests' needs such as napkins and drink refills
  • build regular relationships with guests
  • maintain clean service areas and pre-bus tables
  • monitor and observe guests' dining experience and ensure satisfaction
  • prepare final bill, present the check, accept payment and process credit card charges
  • check back promptly after delivering the check
  • assist fellow servers, bus persons, and hostesses with their duties
  • thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
  • fill in as needed to support efficient restaurant operation
