Job Requirements
- Minimum of eighteen years of age
- ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently
- ability to lift fifty pounds and move lifted items three to four feet
- ability to stand for extended periods of time and bend, stoop and reach frequently
- knowledge of kitchen safety practices and accident prevention
- knowledge of basic sanitation, food preparation, and maintenance of kitchen and food service areas

- high school diploma or equivalent is preferred
- experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
Job Duties
- Provide exceptional customer service to residents, families, and guests
- work with coworkers in a team environment promoting quality service positive communication and respect of residents
- assist coworkers in preparation of food in accordance with directions and standards
- assist in tray assembly according to dietary requirements
- serve food and drinks to residents
- assist residents with food consumption when needed i.e. cutting food, buttering bread, pouring beverages, delivering trays to tables
- remove dirty dishes from the dining room and clean tables/areas
- scrape dishes, load and operate dishwasher, wash/scrub pots and pans as needed
- perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, cleaning surfaces, and vacuuming to maintain safe and sanitary work area
- make sure any unused food items are covered, labeled, dated, and stored in the refrigerator/freezer
- restock prep and service areas as needed to maintain an organized work area
- perform additional tasks necessary as directed by the Executive Chef, Cook, or designated person
- transport food carts to and from dining areas
- assist in preparation and service of catering and special dining events
- attend and participate in staff meetings, projects, special events, committees, and mandatory training as appropriate
- complete competency evaluations for training as required by the state or assigned supervisor
- other duties as assigned
