Job Requirements

  • Age over 18 years or have proper work permit and authorization documentation
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations
  • Complete health screening and provide negative TB test results within last 6 months or 7 days of employment
  • Basic counting skills for tracking meals and residents
  • Must be mindful about use of resources and minimize waste
  • Must meet all state specific regulatory requirements
  • Must be mobile and able to perform physical requirements including standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling and repetitive motion
  • Ability to lift or carry 40 plus pounds and push or pull carts as necessary

Job Qualifications

  • Exposure to restaurant operations or ability to learn
  • Good communication skills including ability to speak, write, understand and read English
  • Ability to operate standard serving equipment such as salad bar cart, trays and heating carts
  • Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors and vendors
  • Completion of dining room training course with CCG
  • Must meet and maintain all state specific regulatory requirements

Job Duties

  • Take written food orders and serve meals to residents, family members and visitors professionally
  • Assist residents with meal and menu selections as necessary or requested
  • Use proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables, serving from the left and clearing used dishes between courses
  • Review residents dietary needs as outlined by Supervisor
  • Track resident attendance at meals and provide information in a timely manner
  • Greet and seat residents properly, including integrating new residents to make them feel welcome
  • Ensure a clean and sanitary dining area and comply with food handling policies
  • Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, team members and guests
  • Aid in community marketing efforts through positive interactions and professional behavior
  • Serve, clean and reset tables, return dishes to kitchen
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisors or Executive Director designee
  • Clean and set up dining and food service areas, stock condiments
  • Cooperate with kitchen and dining services to ensure positive dining experience
  • Report safety or equipment issues to Supervisor
  • Assist in breaking down deliveries and putting away stock as needed
  • Deliver meals to resident rooms and collect trays after service
