Job Duties
- Escort guests to their tables when needed
- review MVP program with all guests
- demonstrate strong MVP program knowledge
- review menus to guests and answer questions about menu items
- upsell to improve dining experience and raise check average
- explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
- write guests food orders on order pads and repeat orders back to guests
- input guests orders accurately into POS system
- check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
- check guests identification to ensure minimum age requirements for alcoholic beverage consumption
- collect payments from guests
- remove dishes and glasses from tables and take them to kitchen for cleaning
- clean and reset tables after guests finish dining
- assist host or hostess by answering phones, taking to-go orders, greeting, seating, and thanking guests
- perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, and checking and cleaning bathrooms
- roll silverware, set up food stations, or set up dining areas to prepare for next shift or large parties
- stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, tea, beverages, and napkins
- fill salt and pepper shakers and wipe down table tents throughout shift
- ask guests to leave a review
- maintain a positive and professional approach to coworkers and customers
