Job Qualifications
- Prior experience in a restaurant serving role preferred
- Strong knowledge of POS systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of MVP or similar loyalty programs is a plus
- Ability to upsell menu items effectively
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Basic math skills for handling payments
- Attention to detail to ensure order accuracy
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Job Duties
- Escort guests to their tables when needed
- Review MVP program with all guests
- Demonstrate strong MVP program knowledge
- Review menus and answer questions about menu items
- Upsell to improve dining experience and raise check average
- Explain ingredients and cooking methods of menu items
- Write food orders on order pads and repeat back to guests
- Input guests' orders accurately into POS system
- Check with guests to ensure satisfaction and correct any issues
- Check guests' identification for alcohol consumption eligibility
- Collect payments from guests
- Remove dishes and glasses throughout guests' visit
- Clean and reset tables after guests finish dining
- Assist hosts by answering phones, taking to-go orders, greeting, seating, and thanking guests
- Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, tidying server station, taking out trash, and checking bathrooms
- Roll silverware and set up food stations or dining areas
- Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, tea, napkins, and side plates
- Fill salt and pepper shakers and wipe table tents
- Ask guests to leave a review
- Maintain a positive and professional approach to coworkers and customers
