Job Requirements
- 18+ years old
- reliable transportation required
- ability to wipe down tabletops, table legs, pick up debris off floors, and wipe down booth seats
- ability to transport plates, glasses, baskets to and from service bar and kitchen
- mobility to stand and move at a fast pace for extended periods
- ability to lift and bus pans and trays frequently weighing up to 25 pounds
- good sense of balance, ability to reach, bend, stoop, and kneel
- ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and staff
- ability to carry objects such as high chairs weighing up to 15 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Friendly and engaging demeanor
- prior server experience preferred
- ServeSafe Food Certification a plus
- reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required
- bi-lingual experience a plus
- high school degree or GED preferred
- ability to build relationships
- ability to be a team player
- ability to follow manager instructions and guidance
- ability to communicate and behave professionally at all times
Job Duties
- Delivers food and drinks to guests using Applebee's team delivery
- interacts verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere
- greets guests, answers questions, makes suggestions regarding food and drinks
- completes assigned opening and closing side work
- presents guest checks to dining room patrons and handles payment transactions
- relays food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale system in a timely and accurate manner
- serves alcohol according to state and federal laws and company policies
- participates in clearing and resetting dining room tables
- observes guests, responds to requests, and anticipates needs
- maintains a clean and organized work area
- explains and demonstrates usage of Tabletop Electronic Devices
- drives sales with suggestive selling
- writes and repeats guests’ orders to ensure accuracy
- accommodates special needs of guests such as booster chairs and high chairs
- occasionally serves as Host/Hostess or Carside To-Go Server
- performs general utility functions as requested by management
