Job Duties

  • Escort guests to their tables when needed
  • review MVP program with all guests
  • demonstrate strong MVP program knowledge
  • review menus with guests and answer questions about menu items, upsell to improve dining experience and increase check average
  • explain preparation, ingredients, and cooking methods of menu items
  • write guests food orders on order pads and repeat orders back to guests
  • accurately input guests orders into POS system
  • check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and address any problems
  • verify guests' identification to ensure legal age for alcohol consumption
  • collect payments from guests
  • clear dishes and glasses from tables and transport to kitchen for cleaning throughout the visit and after guests leave
  • clean and reset tables after guests finish dining
  • assist host or hostess by answering phones, taking to-go orders, greeting, seating, and thanking guests
  • perform cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying server station, taking out trash, and cleaning bathrooms
  • roll silverware, set up food stations, and prepare dining areas for next shifts or large parties
  • stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, tea, beverages, napkins, and side plates
  • replenish salt and pepper shakers and wipe down table tents during shifts
  • request guests to leave reviews
  • maintain positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers
