Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in customer service or food service is preferred
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 30 lbs
  • ability to raise a tray weighing up to 25 lbs to shoulder height
  • must meet all state county or municipal health regulations related to food handling
  • ability to operate point of sale system
  • good hearing to respond to employee and guest needs
  • must be able to observe and differentiate monetary denominations
  • ability to work varied shifts including nights weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
  • must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements for the position
  • must be able to work in a team environment
  • meets Denny's uniform and grooming standards and maintains them throughout the shift
  • must be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays nights and weekends
  • possesses excellent guest service skills
  • possesses basic math skills add subtract multiply and divide

Job Duties

  • Taking food orders and keeping drinks filled
  • making sure guests' meals and their experience is as perfect as possible
  • serving guests with a warm friendly smile
  • greeting, seating, and servicing guests in a friendly and courteous manner
  • suggestively selling menu items
  • receiving payment and processing transactions
  • assisting other service personnel to provide total guest satisfaction
  • responding to and addressing guest concerns in a timely and courteous manner
  • operating point of sale systems
  • serving all restaurant menu products
