The Server position at Dave & Buster's plays a critical role in ensuring guests receive fast, friendly service in a lively and welcoming environment. Servers are responsible for creating an unparalleled guest experience by expertly taking food and drink orders, delivering meals promptly, and maintaining a positive, fun atmosphere both for guests and team members. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to read and communicate in English
- Must demonstrate ability to operate credit card machines and conduct accurate financial transactions
- Must be dressed in proper dress code, looking neat, clean and professional
- Must work days, nights and/or weekends as required
- Must be able to work in a noisy, fast paced environment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Must be able to walk or stand 100% of shift
- Must be able to reach, bend and stoop frequently
- Must be able to read and write handwritten notes
- Must maintain personal bank and account for sales on Micros
- Must adhere to sanitation and alcohol awareness procedures.
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer service or server role preferred
- Ability to operate Micros point-of-sale system
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to handle cash and credit transactions accurately
- Ability to assess guest behavior and handle difficult situations professionally
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Flexible scheduling availability
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Enthusiasm for creating a fun and engaging guest experience.
Job Duties
- Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks and games in a fun environment
- Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or unusual matters and suggest alternative courses of action
- Create a warm, fun atmosphere for guests and team members
- Adhere to company sanitation procedures
- Maintain responsibility for personal bank and ensure all financial transactions are accurate by operating credit card machines and handling cash
- Follow alcohol awareness procedures to prevent intoxication and manage intoxicated guests
- Assess guest demeanor and report behavior that requires manager attention
- Greet guests promptly and take accurate food and drink orders
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items to answer guest questions
- Enter orders into Micros system quickly and correctly
- Ensure proper garnishing of food and timely delivery to tables
- Work efficiently adhering to the 'Full hands in, Full hands out' philosophy
- Assist in party set up and breakdown, as well as bussing and resetting tables
- Support other team members as needed
- Complete all sales on personal Micros keys and perform station side work at shift start and end
- Participate in sales incentives and contests to promote the brand
- Follow portion control guidelines while maximizing guest experience
- Maintain ongoing guest satisfaction by checking back after food delivery, monitoring drink levels, and responding to needs quickly
- Keep station clean and set up/take down station tables
- Foster cooperative relationships with all team members to promote a harmonious working climate
- Communicate effectively with guests and team members to generate enthusiasm about the D&B experience
- Demonstrate ability to operate Micros, handle credit transactions, and account for monies accurately
- Read and communicate in English
- Dress professionally according to company dress code
- Must be at least 18 years old.
