Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality preferred
- Must obtain Food Handlers card
- Must successfully complete Serv-Safe training
- Ability to communicate in English
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, moving and lifting up to fifty pounds
- Ability to work varying shifts including holidays and weekends
- Must follow infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups of people
- Must maintain personal hygiene and wear appropriate attire
Job Qualifications
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic
- Uses a cash register and able to make change
- Must obtain Food Handlers card and successfully complete Serv-Safe training
- Ability to communicate with and empathize with residents, families, visitors, peers and supervisors
- Ability to perform duties timely consistent with resident needs and dining room standards
- Ability to support and apply Dallas Retirement Village policies and procedures appropriately
Job Duties
- Perform full service server duties during lunch and dinner meal service times and assist residents with dining needs in a timely manner
- Clear, clean and set dining room tables to avoid cross contamination
- Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures as needed
- Follow safety regulations and established infection control and Universal precautions policies and procedures
- Schedule and assign routine and additional tasks to dining room staff
- Orient and train dining room staff and participate in in-service meetings
- Maintain orderly and clean pantry
- Ensure adequate floor stock and proper labeling/dating procedures
- Provide documentation of food and equipment temperatures
- Properly label and store food items
- Maintain acceptable personal hygiene and comply with dress code
- Attend training and education sessions
- Participate in foodservice supervisor activities
- Suggest improvements in service, menus, atmosphere, decor, and maintenance related to dining experience
