Job Requirements
- Ability to stand and/or walk throughout the entire shift and work in a restaurant environment
- ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- regular requirement to stand and walk, talk or hear in person and by telephone, use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate restaurant equipment
Job Qualifications
- 6 mos. to 2 years related experience preferred
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- alcohol certification required
- food handler's certificate as required
- ability to see, hear, read, and write in English
- basic math and verbal communication skills required
- ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal directions
- clear speaking and attentive listening skills
- basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
- ability to manage workflow and resolve questions and problems with supervisor
Job Duties
- Know and follow posted schedule and strict adherence to posted clock in/out times
- adherence to company uniform and grooming policies
- timely and courteous service to guests in assigned and other stations
- thorough knowledge of menu items, wines, beers, and cocktails
- adherence to company, state, and county sanitation standards
- maintain a clean and organized workstation
- maintain friendly, helpful, positive attitude
- know and follow operating policies and steps of service
- welcome and greet guests following established service guidelines
- assist fellow team members in meeting guest needs
- answer questions and make recommendations about food, beverages, features, and services
- understand correct process in serving guests with allergens
- take food and beverage orders, repeating for confirmation, and enter in point-of-sale system accurately
- follow alcohol awareness procedures and notify manager on duty as needed
- deliver food and beverages to guests
- assist bartenders and servers in cooperative service
- monitor guest dining experience, pre-bus, and respond promptly to requests
- prepare and present final bill, accept payments, process credit cards or make change, follow cash handling procedures
- thank guests and invite return visits
- participate in clearing and resetting dining room tables
- assist other servers, back-of-house team, and counter/bartenders when necessary
- perform all side work and cleaning duties as outlined
- carry out all other duties assigned by management
- attend company meetings and training seminars
- perform side work throughout shift
- adhere to employee handbook, performance expectations, and dress/grooming guidelines
- keep supervisor informed of guest service issues and take corrective action
- treat guests, team members, and managers with respect and courtesy
- maintain a friendly and cooperative attitude
- portray a favorable image of Willie's Grill and Icehouse
- perform related tasks assigned by management
