Job Requirements

  • Age over 18 years or have proper work permit and authorization documentation
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations
  • Complete health screening and provide negative TB test results within last 6 months or 7 days of employment
  • Basic counting skills as required by position
  • Good communication skills including ability to speak, write, understand and read English
  • Ability to operate standard serving equipment such as salad bar cart, trays, heating cart
  • Mindful use of resources and supplies minimizing waste
  • Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, families, visitors, vendors and public
  • Must complete dining room training course with CCG
  • Must meet and maintain all state specific regulatory requirements
  • Must be physically able to stand for long periods, bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull, lift over 40 pounds
  • Must be mobile and able to move intermittently throughout the community

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in restaurant or food service operations preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Basic math skills for tracking meals and residents
  • Completion of dining room training course with CCG
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to comply with state specific regulatory requirements

Job Duties

  • Take written food orders and serve meals to residents, family members and visitors professionally and efficiently
  • Assist residents with meal/menu selections as necessary or requested
  • Use proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables courteously and professionally
  • Review residents dietary needs as outlined by supervisor
  • Track resident attendance at meals and provide information to appropriate person
  • Greet and seat residents properly, including integrating new residents
  • Maintain clean and sanitary dining area and comply with food handling policies
  • Display tact and friendliness with residents, team members and guests
  • Aid in community marketing efforts through positive interactions and dress
  • Serve, clean, reset tables, return dishes to kitchen
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or executive director
  • Clean and set up dining and food service areas including stocking condiments
  • Cooperate and assist with kitchen and dining services to ensure positive resident dining experience
  • Report safety or equipment issues to supervisor
