Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in customer service or food and beverage service preferred
- basic math proficiency
- strong communication skills
- physical ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to lift and carry trays weighing up to 25 pounds
- ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of the guests
- have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
- possess basic math skills and ability to operate a point-of-sale system
- be able to work in a standing position for long periods
- be able to safely lift and carry trays weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds
Job Duties
- Welcome and greet guests making them feel comfortable and personally cared for
- inform guests of specials and menu changes
- make genuine recommendations for guests' enjoyment
- answer questions about food, beverages and restaurant services
- take food and beverage orders and enter them in the point-of-sale system
- deliver orders to guests in a timely manner
- perform side work as required by service station assignment
- maintain clean service areas
- monitor guests' dining experience and respond promptly to requests
- prepare final bill, present check, accept payment and process transactions
- assist fellow servers as situations arise
- assist with bussing and cleaning tables
- thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
- fill in as needed to ensure efficient restaurant operation as directed
