Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior food service experience preferred
  • ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and evenings
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • readiness to complete pre-employment physical and lift test
  • pass required reference and background checks
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • ability to work well with diverse populations
  • willingness to check email regularly and use Workday for scheduling
  • availability to work as an essential employee when required

  • excellent customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • high school or vocational school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous food service experience preferred
  • prior experience in collegiate or institutional food service preferred

Job Duties

  • Set up food lines by preparing, cleaning, and managing service equipment prior to meal service and ensuring all sanitation measures are followed
  • serves and restocks food for service
  • finalizes food items for service including garnishing and placing foods for superior presentation
  • communicates with culinary staff to ensure continuous service and prepares for peak guest demand
  • cleans the station thoroughly after each meal period and resets for the next
  • delivers excellent customer service by engaging with guests and building relationships
  • collaborates and communicates effectively with colleagues and students
  • retrieves and restocks supplies and food items as needed
  • completes sanitation, temperature, and service logs for compliance
  • performs additional duties including cleaning and sanitation tasks as assigned
  • regularly checks email for updates and uses Workday for scheduling and personal information management
