Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 3 years of previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant
  • excellent oral communication skills
  • positive interpersonal skills
  • must speak English fluently and be able to write in basic English
  • must be 21 years or older
  • ability to speak and hear
  • close and distance vision
  • frequent walking with some standing at times
  • will walk for long periods of time, possibly extended distances
  • frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs
  • occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs
  • continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
  • able to reach hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare, clean, and level tables and ensure side stations are stocked
  • stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen or bar staff are running out of any items
  • present menus, suggest dishes, assist in drink selection, inform customers about food preparation details, and communicate specific customer needs or allergies to the cooks
  • maintain proper dining experience, deliver items, fulfill customer needs, offer desserts and drinks, remove courses, replenish utensils, and refill glasses
  • provide proper tableside wine service
  • obtain revenues, issue receipts, accept payments, and return the change
  • perform basic cleaning tasks and side-work as needed or directed by the supervisor
  • fill in for absent staff as needed
  • assist with special events as needed
  • greet all guests at the door and at the tables warmly with an appropriate greeting
  • adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently
  • understand and communicate distillery products and processes
