Job Requirements
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, AM or PM as needed
- complete opening and closing sidework as assigned and have all tables set according to standards
- provide confident and educated advice on menu options as well as food and beverage pairings, including daily features
- preset tables with appropriate items for each course when necessary
- ensure correct and efficient order taking
- carry trays with all food and beverage items
- pre-buss tables to clear any dirty silverware, glassware, or debris whenever possible
- ascertain guests' satisfaction and handle any problem which may arise by informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved
- recognize and address potential intoxicated or disruptive guests to be addressed by a manager, and ensure responsible sale and consumption of alcohol
- conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the hotel standards
- follow uniform guidelines including a clean, complete uniform, including pens, lighter, wine key, server book, and must maintain person grooming standards set by hotel
- assist with responsibilities and duties in other departments and as assigned by management
- maintain a good working relationship with other associates by fostering a harmonious working climate
Job Qualifications
- Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
- high school or equivalent education
- minimum 2 years food and beverage experience
- great wine and food knowledge
- ability to work alone without direct supervision
