Job Requirements

  • Must be available to work weekends, holidays, AM or PM as needed
  • complete opening and closing sidework as assigned and have all tables set according to standards
  • provide confident and educated advice on menu options as well as food and beverage pairings, including daily features
  • preset tables with appropriate items for each course when necessary
  • ensure correct and efficient order taking
  • carry trays with all food and beverage items
  • pre-buss tables to clear any dirty silverware, glassware, or debris whenever possible
  • ascertain guests' satisfaction and handle any problem which may arise by informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved
  • recognize and address potential intoxicated or disruptive guests to be addressed by a manager, and ensure responsible sale and consumption of alcohol
  • conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times to reflect the hotel standards
  • follow uniform guidelines including a clean, complete uniform, including pens, lighter, wine key, server book, and must maintain person grooming standards set by hotel
  • assist with responsibilities and duties in other departments and as assigned by management
  • maintain a good working relationship with other associates by fostering a harmonious working climate

Job Qualifications

  • Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • high school or equivalent education
  • minimum 2 years food and beverage experience
  • great wine and food knowledge
  • ability to work alone without direct supervision
