Job Requirements

High school diploma preferred
minimum of one year serving experience
must hold current state-required sanitation certification or license
ability to understand and follow instructions in English
effective communication skills
ability to interpret and explain menu
ability to coordinate meal service
courteous and tactful
physical ability to stand and walk for entire workday
ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
ability to push and pull bus carts up to 50 lbs
ability to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently

Job Qualifications

High school diploma preferred
minimum of one year serving experience
current state-required sanitation certification or license
experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred
ability to understand and follow instructions in English
effective communication skills
ability to interpret and explain menu items
ability to coordinate meal service process
courteous, tactful, and gracious manner
ability to work cooperatively with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers

Job Duties

Sets tables and maintains workstations in proper order
takes orders and provides service and requested items graciously and courteously
clears dishes from tables during and after meal service
answers pertinent questions about menu items
assists in maintaining a high level of customer service for residents and guests
assists with dishwashing and distribution of clean dishes if needed
maintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas
maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code
completes all assigned cleaning tasks
attends in-service training and education sessions
performs duties as assigned by supervisor
records meal checks, reservations, and additional charges
uses point-of-sale (POS) system proficiently
other duties as assigned
