Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience working in hospitality or food service preferred
  • able to meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, and extended standing or walking
  • willingness to work long and irregular hours
  • must not consume alcohol during employment
  • legal authorization to work in the United States
  • successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screening
  • availability to commit to temporary shipboard employment up to 28 weeks
  • adherence to company grooming standards and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • be an American citizen or Green Card holder
  • possess strong hospitality and customer service skills
  • be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day, 7 days a week, for up to 28 weeks
  • maintain composure and a positive attitude under pressure
  • follow grooming standards including limits on visible tattoos and piercings
  • be able to perform emergency and safety functions after training
  • pass a pre-employment drug test including testing for marijuana and controlled substances

Job Duties

  • Provide guests with an elegant and memorable dining experience
  • set up and break down breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hour including tables, linen, silverware, china, and glassware
  • cater to all culinary requests efficiently
  • acknowledge guests by name, escort them to tables, present menus, suggest courses and wines, and answer menu questions
  • relay orders to the galley and serve courses and beverages with care ensuring proper presentation and garnishing
  • perform additional duties such as greeting guests upon embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and catering evening entertainment
