Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience working in hospitality or food service preferred
- able to meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, and extended standing or walking
- willingness to work long and irregular hours
- must not consume alcohol during employment
- legal authorization to work in the United States
- successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screening
- availability to commit to temporary shipboard employment up to 28 weeks
- adherence to company grooming standards and safety protocols
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- be an American citizen or Green Card holder
- possess strong hospitality and customer service skills
- be able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day, 7 days a week, for up to 28 weeks
- maintain composure and a positive attitude under pressure
- follow grooming standards including limits on visible tattoos and piercings
- be able to perform emergency and safety functions after training
- pass a pre-employment drug test including testing for marijuana and controlled substances
Job Duties
- Provide guests with an elegant and memorable dining experience
- set up and break down breakfast, lunch, dinner, and cocktail hour including tables, linen, silverware, china, and glassware
- cater to all culinary requests efficiently
- acknowledge guests by name, escort them to tables, present menus, suggest courses and wines, and answer menu questions
- relay orders to the galley and serve courses and beverages with care ensuring proper presentation and garnishing
- perform additional duties such as greeting guests upon embarkation, serving afternoon teas and snacks, and catering evening entertainment
