Job Requirements

  • High school education preferred
  • Up to one month related experience or training
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Availability to work weekend and holidays
  • Ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards
  • Effective communication skills
  • Flexibility to work shifts primarily from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm with possible earlier shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school education preferred or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Point of sales experience preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room and take all food orders in an efficient manner following established steps of service
  • Demonstrate a complete understanding of all menu items and ingredients and advise guests on appropriate combinations while accommodating reasonable requests and preferences
  • Communicate directly with back of the house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and all special requests are addressed
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills, maintain flexibility and patience, and show interest in guests and staff while preserving confidentiality of personal or medical information
  • Deliver food promptly and professionally, follow safe food handling and sanitation standards, and periodically follow up to assist with additional needs
  • Scrape food off plates and promptly address and correct complaints, relaying information to supervisor as needed
  • Ensure the dining area is properly set up before and after service, maintain cleanliness and sanitation
  • Operate equipment as required including fire extinguisher, telephone, iced tea/soda machine, soup well, and coffee machine
  • Collect tickets and follow proper cash handling procedures
  • Collaborate with staff from other departments during special events or functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Be available for shifts primarily from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with possible earlier shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
