Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in a customer service or food service role preferred
- strong communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor
- ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
- basic math proficiency
- willingness to learn and follow restaurant policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests
- have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
- possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
- be able to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 5 hours)
- be able to safely lift and maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds
Job Duties
- Welcome and greet guests
- make all guests feel comfortable and let them know you are there to personally take care of them
- inform guests of specials and menu changes
- make recommendations you genuinely feel guests will enjoy
- answer questions about food, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services
- take food and beverage orders from guests and enter orders in point-of-sale system
- deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner
- perform side work at start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment
- maintain clean service areas
- monitor and observe guests' dining experience and ensure guests are satisfied
- prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change
- assist fellow servers as situations arise
- assist with bussing and cleaning tables
- thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
- be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant
