Job Requirements

  • Exposure to restaurant operations or ability to learn
  • Age over 18 or have proper work permit and authorization
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations
  • Complete health screening and provide negative TB test within last 6 months or within 7 days of employment
  • Basic counting skills for tracking meals and residents
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Ability to use serving equipment like salad bar cart and trays
  • Mindful use of resources to minimize waste
  • Ability to deal tactfully and professionally with diverse individuals
  • Completion of CCG dining room training course
  • Compliance with state regulatory requirements
  • Must be mobile and able to stand for long periods, bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions
  • Able to lift/carry 40+ lbs and push/pull carts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in restaurant or food service preferred
  • Ability to learn restaurant operations
  • Good communication skills including speaking, writing, and reading English
  • Ability to operate standard serving equipment
  • Completion of dining room training course with CCG
  • Ability to work tactfully and professionally with residents, family, and public
  • Must meet and maintain state-specific regulatory requirements

Job Duties

  • Take written food orders and serve meals to residents, family members, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist residents with meal and menu selections as necessary
  • Use proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables
  • Review residents' dietary needs as outlined by Supervisor
  • Track resident attendance at meals and provide that information timely
  • Greet and seat residents, integrating new residents comfortably
  • Ensure clean and sanitary dining areas complying with food handling policies
  • Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents and team members
  • Aid in community marketing through positive interaction and professional appearance
  • Serve, clean, reset tables, and return dishes to kitchen
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisors or Executive Director
  • Clean and stock dining and food service areas including condiments
  • Cooperate with kitchen and dining services to enhance dining experience
  • Report safety or equipment issues to Supervisor
